VisualCron

This is a cool looking tool! I always hated how Microsoft did their scheduled tasks. If you want to make it a lot more admin friendly give this little gem a try.

Deleting an instance of SQL Server 2005

November 13th, 2009 jkjames 1 comment

I had an issue the other day of an database in SQL Server 2005 not removing itself after an uninstall of a certain piece of software. When I tried to reinstall this software it would not because, there was another copy of the database on the system.

Here is the guide on how to remove those pesky databases that fail to get removed.

Delete a Service without the need of a CMD line.

If you’re like me and hate using CMD line to delete services, then I will teach you where to go to delete it other ways.

Click Start > Run and type in regedit.exe. Click OK.

Navigate down to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

Scroll down the left pane, locate the service name, right click it and select Delete.

And finally, reboot your system.

Shooting at Ft. Hood

It was just a matter of time until this happened. You put anyone through unwanted stress and eventually they will break down. I wish that the shooter wouldn’t have broke down in the way he chose to but, you don’t always get what you want. This will definitely shine an unwanted light on the U.S. Army.

In the past I have heard of several of this events happening in Korea, it is just sad that it happens in the US. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family members of the service members, and civilian that lost their lifes!
